SNMP v3 Support in OpManager

Having been in and out of the product's roadmap for quite sometime, SNMP v3 support is finally in. The latest Service Pack of OpManager 7 has this feature rolled-in.

SNMP v3 provides a secure environment for system and network management. OpManager uses SNMP v3's ContextName, and a combination of the Authentication and Encryption protocol to securely authenticate to remote devices in the LAN or WAN. You can now create separate SNMP v3 credentials in OpManager to enable discovery and monitoring of v3-enabled environment.

Support for H.323 protocol now in VQManager

The VoIP traffic monitoring offering from the ManageEngine suite, VQManager, recently launched support for the legacy H.323 protocol. ManageEngine VQManager now monitors VoIP environments that use SIP, Cisco SCCP (Skinny) or H.323 protocols.

Support for H.323 is significant considering the complete and extensive coverage of VoIP equipment vendors and protocols, and further, the administrators have to deal with just a single interface to manage a complete VoIP network. VQManager now supports VoIP systems from vendors such as Cisco, Asterisk, 3Com, Avaya, Grandstream, 3CX, Polycom and many other vendors who support SIP, Cisco SCCP (Skinny) or H.323.
